2007 Book Drive
Book Donations for a Children's Charity

As part of the holiday festivities at the SLA Philadelphia Holiday Party, a children's charity is selected to receive book donations from SLA members. Members are encouraged to wrap the gift and indicate the age range appropriate for the gift. A box to collect the donations will be available at the party.
The selected charity for this year's book drive is My Sister's Place. Books will be collected for children ages infant to 6 years of age.
My Sister's Place is a Jefferson residential treatment program for women recovering from substance abuse. Patients often arrive at the program with no possessions at all. They need clothing, personal care items, shoes, and just about anything else you can think of. The children need warm coats and clothing, too, but also need that special book or toy that warms the heart at holiday time.
If you’d like to contribute more than books, My Sister's Place accepts ALL donations year-round, and can make arrangements to pick up if you cannot deliver or send your contribution. You may also choose to "adopt" an individual patient, a child or a whole family for the holidays. If you or your department would like to organize a group donation, adopting a family would be a great match! Please send general donations to:
